Almost Home Alone – America’s Greatest Christmas Pop-Up Bar

The Almost Home Alone Tavern Xmas Pop-Up

The greatest Home Alone Christmas Bar Pop-Up goes to The Almost Home Alone Tavern and Grill located at 3801 N Clark St, Chicago, Illinois. There are tons of festive Home Alone decorations and even more holiday inspired food and cocktails options!

John Otto VonPerbandt, principal at The Almost Home Tavern says, “This is our second year doing the Pop-Up, and this year we went even bigger than the first. We are located in Wrigleyville, and pretty much all of the bars over here do some kind of Christmas themed pop up for the holidays. It is such a great draw in what is normally considered slower months, so when we opened two years ago, we knew we had to get our own Holiday version going. Our Chef did such an amazing job with the themed food options, that I don't know if I could pick a favorite! Of the cocktails, I think my favorite is the Hot Iron - it's basically an Old Fashioned with Twisted Tea. So far this year, the response has been amazing! We do sell Almost Home Alone T-shirts and glass mugs. They are both reasonably priced, and make for great gifts for the holidays!”

The t-shirts go for $25 and the mugs are $20. Food options include Filthy Animal Fries, Kevin’s Cheese Pizza, I Can't Be a Wimp I'm the Man of the House - 8 oz ribeye served medium rare, maitre d butter, alongside Yukon mashed potato with gravy and firecracker green beans, Why the Hell Are You Dressed Like a Chicken Dinner, McCallister Family Secret Crab Dip, Polka Polka Polka Twist - House made knots dressed with confit garlic butter alongside creamy tomato sauce, Kenosha Kickers - Hot honey cheese stuffed pretzel bites served with umami chili sauce, We're No longer the Wet Bandits We're the Sticky Bandits - Fresh fried apple cider doughnuts tossed in cinnamon sugar and drizzle of sticky apple cider glaze, and Buzz's Tarantula Bites - Homemade Oreo cheesecake with rye whiskey caramel and whipped cream.

Cocktail options include Polka King Punch, Fistmas, The Southbend Shovel Slayer, Jingle Balls, Uncle Frank's Cocoa, Christmas Ale, Lez Incompetent, Peppermint White Russian, Lone Fashioned, The Fuller, The Angry Furnace, The Hot Iron Old Fashioned, and Gluhwein.

This is one holiday event you are not going to want to miss!
